Sue Out! Thanks for the great year everyone!

Well, as of July 31st, I’m done being the Jr. High Pastor.  Right now we’re not sure who I’ll be passing my duties over to – that will be determined in the next few weeks.  Someone will be taking over temporarily from September – December, followed by hiring a permanent replacement in January.  I’m sad to be leaving this season of my life.  All my years as the Jr. High Pastor have been full of great Jr. Highs that make this job so rewarding!  Its the same for this year, thanks to everyone for making my job so fun!

Were still meeting throughout the August, so plan to come out to these events:

Tuesday, August 11th from 7-9 p.m. – Forestry Farm Fun

Meet at the church at 7 to walk over to the forestry farm together to hang out, eat some food, toss around the frisbee, football or volleyball, and if you want bring $4.75 to go to the zoo.  We’ll be back at the church to be picked up at 9 p.m.

Friday, August 21 from 8:30-10 p.m. – Jr. / Sr. High Pool Party at Riversdale

Please note the date change from our schedule – we’ll be meeting at Riversdale on Friday night for a late night swim.  Cost is $5 to get in (pay it to Pastor Kevin when you get there), and don’t forget all your swim stuff!  There’ll be beach volleyball & a fire if you don’t want to go in the pool.

Last time at Jr. High…

41142842.z3It was Sue’s final Jr. High, and we all hung out at her house for a fun backyard party.  We walked to the spray park to get wet and play a running tag game that wore us out (while those that didn’t want to get wet just hung out at the park).  Then we came back for a fire and snacks in the backyard.  Sue emptied out her prize box and we played a guessing game to see how many of prizes were in each jar.  Kirsten won the big jar of 1506 Jelly Beans!

Unfortunately we forgot to take pictures of the night, so you’ll just have to enjoy this lovely picture of some tasty marshmallows and replay the rest of the evening in your head!  (Or if you weren’t there, you can make up your own memories.)  Post a comment to share your memories! :)
