Forest Grove Community Church's Jr. High

We had quite the riot last week @ FUSION when we introduced our leaders and then made them the aim of the game. After getting to know each one a little through their profile, we divided them up and made them the object of our chase. Playing a “capture the flag” type game inside and out, we burnt off some energy and had alot of good laughs.

Continuing with the theme of getting to know our leaders, it was a great opportunity for me to let the youth know a bit of my story and how I came to know who God was and what He had done for us. I spoke a bit about how I grew up and the moment when I was at Camp Kadesh, about to go into grade seven, and God really got my attention. A moment I will never soon forget. After making eye contact with God on that night, I was never the same. Shortly after that, I attended Forest Grove for the first time and started to learn about and understand the whole idea of being part of the Family of God.

Hi there!! My name is Chandra Styles and I am serving as the interim Junior High Pastor at Forest Grove until December. My husband, Kirk, and I are very excited about the group of leaders we have coming out every week to be a part of this rad ministry and we have really enjoyed beginning to get to know the kids. We have had an awesome few weeks so far getting back into the swing of fall and we look forward to the months ahead.

This year we are gonna be running two types of events…FUSION: a big group night of high energy games and a chance to meet together afterward to hear a Bible talk from the word of God; and we’ll have DIVE: a night to connect to a smaller group of kids and consistent leaders where you can have lots of laughs, be able to be open and honest, and get a chance to grow together as a community. Our first DIVE groups will be kicking off Friday, October 9th.
