This Friday we are gonna be splishing and splashing our way over to LAKEWOOD CIVIC CENTRE for some swimming and riding the waterslide!

Our Fusion Fall schedule had originally said we were going to Harry Bailey, but do to a time change in their schedule, we’ll be heading to Lakewood. Please let your friends know!

Also, we are meeting at the church at 7:00 p.m. SHARP! This is a half hour earlier so please make sure you are on time. If you are coming late and joining us at the pool, email Pastor Chan (chandra@forestgrovecc.com) to make sure we have a ride for you back to the church.

The cost is $3! See you Friday night from 7 – 10!

FUSION: GUYS ONLY

Wanna play vids & pig out without girls getting in your hair? Then come for a gaming phenomenon and snacks at Carson’s house (439 Briarvale Court) from 7:30 p.m. – 10 on Friday night!

You are responsible for rides there and back. Email Pastor Chan if you can’t get one and she’ll make sure she gets you there (chandra@forestgrovecc.com).

Bring your gaming skills and a warm jacket in case its nice enough to have a fire!

FUSION: GIRLS ONLY

Its time to hang out and let girls be girls! We’re having a girls night…but with a twist. Come ready to get a new look and maybe even take part in a photo shoot (because why would we let all that beauty go to waste). There will be lots of laughs and, of course, lots of snacks.

Meet at the church from 7:30 p.m. – 10. Wear your comfiest clothing and bring any extra make-up you would like to use, especially mascara.

Last Week @ FGCC Jr. High…DIVE: Operation Christmas Child Birthday Bash!

IMG_3814What a celebration we had last week!! It was everyone’s birthday all wrapped into one big event. And what did we do to celebrate? We gave gifts, of course! But not to each other…to kids who need them the most. Each DIVE group went around playing Birthday games in order to win prizes to add to their Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. It was lots of fun to hang out together…play fun games…and know that we were making a gift for a child who may never have received a gift before.

After our night of games we talked about Christmas and the fact that we, as North Americans, spend a crazy amount on Christmas every year. And most of the times, its not necessary. We threw out the idea that we could change our mindsets and instead of giving so much to people who already have so much…we could give to those who have none.

Advent Conspiracy is a movement to SPEND LESS and GIVE MORE this Christmas season. We learned about the water projects that our church is embracing this season to give CLEAN WATER to those who have never had it before. We learned that only $100 will be a BioSand Filter for a family or community in a country that does not have fresh water. We also learned that our youth group spends approximately $100 on snack every week. So what if we SPENT LESS…what if we gave up our snack every week to buy a family clean water? And what if we GAVE MORE…what if we gave part of our allowance every week to add to the money? What if we asked our parents to give us $ towards a filter instead of a Christmas present? What if we sold something we had but didn’t need so some people could have clean water.

What if?

There will be medals for the winners and prizes for some of the most outrageous costumes. Get ready to rise to the top with your DIVE group as victors of Hallowe’en Olympics!
